Film Works 109 recently completed the Tierra Farm video, which showcased the certified organic manufacturer of nuts and dried fruits located about 20 miles south of Albany. Working with Chief Executive Officer Darren Grout and President Gunther Fishgold, Film Works 109 was commissioned to tell the Tierra Farm story, which captured the company’s connection to the land, their employees, their customers and the environment.
It all starts down on the farm, an organic farm that can be found in Europe, Asia, Canada or California and beyond. Then the product is all compiled and processed right in Valatie, New York at the Tierra Farm processing facility. It is a hands on approach that emphasizes quality over quantity or profitability. Their goal is to find the best product for their customers.
Film Works 109 interviewed key employees, shot several days on site, enjoyed organic meals prepared by the Tierra Farm chief who serves up her delicious offerings to the employees free of charge…she is also the cousin of Snookie from the reality show Jersey Shore…but we didn’t hold that against her.
From ground and air, Film Works 109 uncovered the story of a truly unique company that even paid their employees to quit smoking and have a full gym on site for their use. Heating with solar panels, keeping live chickens for fresh eggs and tending to their own organic garden further enforced the commitment to a healthy and environment friendly operation.
